Hello, The no-magpie-cache branch is now open for testing :) http://svn.gregarius.net/trac/browser/branches/no-magpie-cache/ Please test it if you can and report any errors. This branch is separate from the main trunk so please test it on a seprate db. It does two things.. (Ok it is *suppossed* to do two things) 1. Moves the essentials of magpie's cache into the DB (etags, etags etc..) 2. Improved handling of updates using guids and md5sums There is going to be a small problem when merging this back into the main trunk. Since most users will be upgrading from older versions, we are going to have to first prime the database with the guids of the items and md5 hashes of the item descriptions, before moving to the new system. Ps. Any ideas/suggestions about the update algorithm and the handling of new items will be most graciously received. best, Sameer
